Prepare Yourselves for Crisis on Infinite Earths…

Not much happened yesterday, except for the finale of the Elseworlds crossover event.

Surprisingly, we started the episode off with the realization that Superman is really John Deegan. No surprise there. This is a man who loves his new found power, so why not allow yourself to think that you can be a Superhero, even if it is due to circumstance…and that is the book. As you can tell he is a little off his rocker.

But he continues to hold the mantle of Superman and that is trying to save the meek of Central City. In this new Earth, Kara is jailed and her powers are dampened and Barry and Oliver continue to be the famed Trigger Twins. Even if they have no powers, they are still a threat to John Deegan and that gives them a little leg up on Deegan because he can’t read them.

In order to be the hero he wants to be, Deegan creates a team of familiar faces to help him in his quest. But he had to scrambled reality in order to do so.

That’s when the Monitor pops up to talk to Barry and Oliver, aka Boliver, about their destinies. This is all a trial, but due to their inherent desire to help humanity even if it means losing their lives while doing so…The Monitor thinks they have a chance. So, their first stop is finding Mr. Ramon the Kingpin. Boliver teaches Mr. Ramon to use his vibing so they can find Clark and Lois.

While this is happening, Kara is trying to crack the nut that is this Earth’s version of her Sister. She does it and just as she is ready to escape with her sister, Our Clark, with Mr. Ramon and Boliver show up. Now, it is Superman vs. Superman and like the DCEU movies, they are tearing up the city.

However, Kara gets her hands on the unlocked book and she gets it to Clark. He manages to fix Boliver and they are in their respective costumes and have their powers. Is that enough to stop Deegan…no. Of course not. He gets his hands back on the book and as he tries to rewrite reality to the nth degree, Oliver confronts the Monitor and he challenges him, why? To ensure that Kara and Barry live, but something has to change.

Is that Oliver…we shall see.

We did get is a resolution to this storyline. Barry and Kara slowed time enough to give Oliver, with a special arrow in tow, the time he needed to burn that book and take out John Deegan.

Everything is as it should be, but we got more…

Lois and Clark are leaving for Argo for an extended amount of time due to Lois being pregnant. Clark leaves Earth 38 in the capable hands of his cousin and then pops the question to Lois.

Boliver have reached a new level of understanding and appreciation for one another.

And Kate tells Oliver that something is amiss with John Deegan and his new bestie…

Then we get this…

All in all, it was a great crossover event that should be it’s own series. These characters are at their best when they work together to save humanity. Now, the countdown begins for next fall.

FYI, here is a little info on the comic book series that the next crossover event is based on:

At the start of Crisis on Infinite Earths, the Anti-Monitor (the Monitor’s evil counterpart) is unleashed on the DC Multiverse and begins to destroy the various Earths that it comprises. The Monitor tries to recruit heroes from around the Multiverse but is murdered, while Brainiac collaborates with the villains to conquer the remaining Earths. However, both the heroes and villains are eventually united by the Spectre; the series concludes with Kal-L, Superboy-Prime, and Alexander Luthor Jr. defeating the Anti-Monitor and the creation of a single Earth in place of the Multiverse. Crisis on Infinite Earths is infamous for its high death count; hundreds of characters died, including DC icons such as Supergirl and Barry Allen. Does this mean we will see a shift in the Arrowverse in the foreseeable future? Only time will tell…

What You Missed…

While the World is waiting for the Mueller Report to be released and the vote to happen for Brexit, the latest trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters dropped. Yes, yes…not as important. However, all I could say was, “Is that Rodan?!?!? Was that Mothra?!?!? Is this Japan?!?!?!? As you can tell, it is a must watch:

While Netflix is purging all of their competitor’s content on their streaming platform,  they are getting all of their ducks in a row. Recap: Elseworlds: Part 2

Well…Barry is still Oliver Queen aka Green Arrow and Star City is falling apart due to the red skies. Diggle is right, whenever Supergirl, Green Arrow, and The Flash are together…there is a problem. What’s funny is that Oliver thinks Batman is an Urban Legend and he is facing speed force issues. We saw the Wayne Enterprises building!

Soooooooooo…Oliver’s reputation proceed’s him when they make it to Gotham…which is a city where people travel by armored car. Apparently, Wayne left Gotham three year’s ago and Kate Kane has bailed them out. While this is happening, Cait is consoling Felicity about why Oliver did not tell her about the body swapping?

Kara finds out from Kate that Deegan is a doctor at Arkham and that is where the trip heads to next. We then cut to Kate going into the bowels of the Wayne Enterprise building to go get her Batgirl outfit.

Ruby Rose is not bad as a superhero.

The Brainiac team tells the supes that they have to get “the book.” They find Deegan and he knows Oliver is Oliver and then sets off the alarm that buys him time to escape. The alarm just opened every door to all the cells.

Wow…Reverse Flash and Malcolm Merlyn show up. Basically, all hell is breaking loose in Gotham. However, they are not really there. Basically, Oliver and Barry are fighting each other. Kate stops them from killing each other due to inhaling a powerful hallucinogenic. This moment allows the two friends to learn of the burdens that both of them carry and thus a greater appreciation grows for one another.

And…Kara and Kate have a moment. Will this mean that possibly they may cross paths again? I think everyone wants that.

With the book in tow, team Freaky Friday head back to Star City.

Oliver has a moment with Felicity and tells her that no matter what, she is the love of his life. Very sweet moment where she knows that this man in front of her is her Oliver. Apparently, all they needed was a much needed heart-to-heart. I hope this carries over to their own normal timeline.

Barry from Earth 90 shows up and explains the devious plan of the Monitor that revolves around a “Crisis.” He wants to save the multiverse from someone. Who?

Now, they are in a new world where Oliver and Barry are in robbers in Central City (snazzy outfits). They have no powers and dark Superman is the hero of this world. How are they going to get themselves out of this mess?
