Day 4 of #SDCC…

Supernatural:

Good news to the fans that were wanting the Wayward Sisters to be picked up by the CW or any network, Jodi Mills and other Wayward Sisters will return to the series, as well as Rowena.

But, there were some funny moments…

As soon as the show finished it’s last shot ever, he taking the impala. His exact words:

“When all is said and done and the show finally comes to an end, there’s a lot of things I’ll take with me. One thing is the car because they’ll call cut and you’ll see a dust cloud.”

Jared pitched a toga-filled episode for their 300th episode.

Not only did Misha being Voter Registration forms to the Con, but he also said that Jensen cowboy kink is now his kink.

The nice about this panel is that year in and year out…the actors acknowledge their fandom. This show and its fans are truly a family.

Riverdale:

We will leap ahead three months at the beginning of Season 3 and we will see Archie go on trial. That is where we will meet his archness for this season and that is…Ms. Wright (Penelope Ann Miller). Ms. Wright is the DA who wants to convict Archie for murder. Who will be helping Arch in his time of need, no other than the dynamic duo of Bughead, however they fully embrace their responsibility as the leaders of the Serpents. We will also get to see Bughead’s reaction to finding out about their parent’s relationship. Awkward! However, this whole debacle will cause a kink in Varcher land.

Toni (Vanessa Morgan, who is now a series regular) will find herself in a rivalry with former Pussycat Vocalist, Josie, due to Cheryl having once had a crush on Josie. Moose and Kevin are dating and even Reggie finds love in the new season. However, there will be a bigger focus on the friendships. So, we shall see B&V be buddies again, as well as Jug and Arch.

The highlight for me is that this may be the season where these kids actually concentrate on school!

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa stated the following:

“It’s junior year, it’s the first time they’re thinking of college and we’re going to try to infuse this season with a lot more high school stuff. We’re going to talk about the SATs, applying to colleges, advisers, extracurriculars, etc.”

This has been a big issue for me with these high-school-centric shows. No one really goes to class or studies? Finally!

As for fun episodes, we will see a flashback episode of the parents when they were younger and as expected, we will have another musical episode.

Casting-wise, they are currently looking for someone to be Edgar Never-Never — the leader of The Farm in Season 3. In the trailer, Polly is offering her twin babies to the cult, that should be interesting.

Also, Wynona Earp was renewed for another season.

Day 3 of #SDCC is Here!

There were some more bits and bobs last night that may be of interest to you:

Let me tell you…Joss Whedon knows how to make a lady happy. We found out yesterday that there is a plan to reboot Buffy the Vampire Slayer. 20th Centure Fox has hired Monica Breen to be the showrunner of the reboot. Whedon is also attached as the Executive Producer and co-writer of the script.

Whedon has his hands full as his other project, The Nevers, will end up on HBO. He will not only be the showrunner, but he will also write, direct, and be the executive producer. The Nevers is an epic science-fiction drama about a gang of Victorian women who find themselves with unusual abilities, relentless enemies and a mission that might change the world.

We also saw the latest trailer for the next season if Preacher:

Yep! We get to meet the Allfather. I am not totally looking forward to it, but this dark and funny show is not for the faint of heart…is it.

Also, apparently Subway did not want to be associated with the show. Especially…with a Hitler working in their doppelganger store.

Now….Fantastic Beasts -The Crimes of Grindlewald:

I always loved the darker Harry Potter movies, so excited about this one and we get to meet Nicholas Flamel of the Philosopher’s Stone fame!

The official trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters:

The offical trailer for Shazam:

I am a sucker for funny superhero movies. Will this movie and Aquaman save the DC movie franchise, which is now called World of DC.

Here’s the much anticipated Aquaman trailer!!!!

Guess what?! Lobo is joining Krypton! Lobo is a Czarnian that is a mercenary/bounty hunter character in the DC comic universe. From what I recall, he was really popular during the 90’s due to him being an anti-hero and his popularity continues. It should be entertaining to see how much mayhem he brings to Krypton.

What You Missed from Day 2 of #SDCC

A bit of a review of the day’s news highlights from San Diego Comic-Con.

As expected, a lot has happened and some of it is a little bittersweet. We learned earlier that Andrew Lincoln was leaving the show. He wanted to spend more time with his family and with a show like this the whole work/life balance must take a hit.

The show will return October 7, which is the last day of NYCC.

Casting-wise, We learned of the introduction of Alpha and she will be portrayed by Samantha Morton. Greg Nicotero stated that means Beta may not be that far behind.

One last thing, Andrew Lincoln mentioned that this show has always been an ensemble and that fans should continue with the show…even once he is gone. However, as a fan, what shows fail to understand is that we fall in love with characters and want to follow them on their journey. So, once you start pecking away the characters we met in Season 1 and 2…it is really hard to stay invested.

Now, Star Trek: Discovery

Captain Pike is taking over the Discovery, say que?

Spock needs help? Dios mio.

And Tig Notaro!

Also…

STRR.jpg

To keep fans interested in the Star Trek-verse, since we will not see Discovery until early 2019, CBS All Access will get four new 10-15 minute episodes that will air in Fall of 2018.

Cloak and Dagger has been renewed for a second season. The show will be back in Spring 2019 with 10 episodes.

Here’s the trailer to the much anticipated Glass:

There are some details about the Venom movie panel, courtesy of THR.

Items of note:

  1. Riot will be in the movie.
  2. Venom is part of a world that Sony is creating around Spider-Man world. Jared Leto is in Morbius and there will be a Silver & Black movie.
  3. Also, do not count out a possible Venom and Spider-Man movie.

The movie will come out October 5th.

I believe the biggest news of the day really revolved around the James Gunn and his firing from Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3. He made light of pedophilia and rape a decade ago and what everyone fails to understand is that everything comes back to bite you in the ass. So, you have to be mindful of what you put on social media…at all times.

The good thing is that James Gunn accepted Disney’s decision. He could have gone all Markle and making a bigger mess out of the situation.
